About MCPdir
MCPdir is an open, multilingual directory of MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers. Our goal is to help developers and teams discover, compare, and choose the right MCP servers for their AI tools.
What is MCPdir?
The MCP ecosystem is growing fast β hundreds of servers are being published across official registries, GitHub, Docker, and community lists. MCPdir aggregates all these sources into a single, searchable directory with original editorial content in English and Spanish. Every server listing includes honest assessments: pros, cons, use cases, installation guides, and practical tips written by our team.
Our data sources
MCPdir pulls data from multiple sources to build the most complete picture of each MCP server:
- MCP Registry β the official Model Context Protocol server registry
- GitHub β repository metrics, activity, and community signals
- PulseMCP β community-driven MCP server tracking
- Docker MCP Catalog β containerized MCP server metadata
- awesome-mcp-servers β curated community list
Registry data syncs automatically. Editorial content (descriptions, reviews, tips) is written by our team and never copied from READMEs or third-party sources.
Why we built this
MCPdir was born from a simple need: there was no single place to browse, compare, and evaluate MCP servers with honest, independent editorial content. The official registries list packages but don't tell you which ones are actually good, what the trade-offs are, or how to get started. We wanted to build that missing layer.
The team
MCPdir is an idea by Color Vivo and David Carrero, built as an open project to share with the developer community.
David Carrero is co-founder of Stackscale, a European cloud infrastructure provider. With years of experience in hosting, cloud computing, and open source, David brings a practical, infrastructure-first perspective to the MCP ecosystem.
Open and free
MCPdir is a free resource. The directory, editorial content, and data are available to everyone. If you want to suggest a server, report an issue, or contribute, visit our GitHub repository.
